Appointments: NG Bailey, Shulmans LLP, Addleshaw Goddard, Glentrool

NG BAILEY, the engineering, IT and facilities services business, has recently appointed new heads of its energy and HR teams.

New director of HR, Rob Smith has joined the business from Santander UK, where he was a divisional HR director and Chris Coath has been appointed head of energy.

At NG Bailey he will oversee its HR function, which is responsible for over 2,500 employees nationwide and will form part of the chief executive’s operating executive team.

Mr Smith said: “I’m looking forward to helping create tangible and measurable business improvements that will build commercial success through the delivery of an effective people strategy.”

Mr Coath has been working in the company’s energy division for eight years, and will now be responsible for the on-going operation, development and implementation of its energy offering, which includes the delivery and deployment of Rare Energy, an innovative energy solution, in partnership with US-based company Elutions.

Andrew Brockett of Shulmans LLPLEEDS-based corporate solicitors,Shulmans LLP, has appointed Andrew Brockett as an associate within its commercial property team.

Mr Brockett has joined Shulmans from Walker Morris where he was an associate within their commercial property team.
Prior to his role at Walker Morris, he held a senior position with high profile, international law firm Bird and Bird LLP and prior to that spent four years prior with Nabarro LLP.

He said: “The outstanding reputation of Shulmans’ Commercial Property team was a very strong incentive to join the firm.
“I intend to focus on using my expertise and knowledge of both the national, regional and London markets to benefit our current business and help grow our client base.”

Addleshaw Goddard is set to promote five of the firm’s Leeds-based lawyers to Partner.

Andrew Williamson and Anna Heaton in real estate, Gary Sector in planning, Graeme Warburton in litigation and Rachel Uttley in commercial have been promoted to partner with effect from 1 May.

Tim Wheldon, head of the Leeds Office of AG said: ” The Leeds office has been well represented in the firm’s partner promotions this year which reflects the outstanding talent we have locally. “

The move is part of 18 partner promotions across the firm. Nine lawyers were also promoted in 2014.

Glentrool Estates, the Ilkley-based property developers, have appointed Andrew Gardner as project director.

Mr Gardner joins Glentrool from property consultancy Fox Lloyd Jones, where he was a senior surveyor. He previously worked for the Consult Group, EC Harris and Gleeds.

He said: “The opportunity to join Glentrool was just too good to miss. I was sad to leave Fox Lloyd Jones, where I had been for nearly four years, but I have known and worked with Jeremy and Paul Nolan of Glentrool for some time and I jumped at the chance to join them.”
