Record audience figures for TheBusinessDesk.com

THEBUSINESSDESK.COM has had a record-breaking start to 2015, after its best-ever month in March ensured the first quarter finished on a high.

The site, covering its three regions North West, Yorkshire and West Midlands, achieved 707,000 page views in March, up 19% on a year earlier. The first three months of the year achieved 1.97m page views – more than any previous quarter in the regional business news site’s eight-year history.

Managing editor Chris Barry said: “It has been a great start to 2015, a year which promises a lot for the business.

“We have successfully rolled out the new format Business Masters awards to Yorkshire, and the first West Midlands event is happening this summer, while we have just launched our Rainmaker Awards in two regions.

“The strong audience growth at a time when competition online is at its fiercest reinforces the fact that we are the first choice for business news in our regions, while the success of our events reflects that we are a respected and integral part of the business communities in which we work.”

There has also been strong growth in social media, with a 50% increase in Twitter followers in 2015 to take the three regional accounts to an aggregate audience of more than 30,000.

The Yorkshire region enjoyed its best day ever on April 1, following on from March being its best month ever which showed a 31% increase year-on-year.
