All Bar One group invests in Leeds pub revamp

PUB group Ember Inns has invested in a revamp of the Brown Cow pub, creating 8 jobs, after its acquisition.

The Brown Cow, previously the Brown Cow and Dragon, has been refurbished as part of the Mitchells & Butler’s acquisition of 173 Orchid sites in 2014.

Ember Inns is part of the Mitchell & Butler group, which also own All Bar One, Harvester and Toby Carvery, and have a portfolio of 1,600 pubs.

The Whitkirk pub, located on Selby Road, reopened its doors on Tuesday 7 March having closed for six weeks, while the refurbishment work and recruitment drive was undertaken.

The restaurant, bar and outside areas now have a new look, with private function rooms now available.

General manager, Christopher Lloyd, said: “Following the refurbishment, the pub looks fantastic and has been given a new lease of life.

“Guests have been very complimentary about the new look and menu and we are thrilled with the feedback we’ve had.

“The team are excited to welcome more guests into the pub and we would encourage anyone who hasn’t been to the Brown Cow, to come find out what we’re all about.”

A spokesperson for the group said: “Ember Inns are committed to providing a quality pub experience and creating a home away from home for all guests.

“The Brown Cow, is a true Whitkirk local and a great place to socialise in front of a cosy fire with a pint of real ale, glass of wine or something tasty from our menu.”
