Developers get the green light for village extension

PLANNING consultancy Turley, on behalf of Sheffield’s Hallam Land Management, has secured planning permission for a new village urban extension in Derbyshire.
Permission was granted for 75 new homes on a 3.44 hectare site in the Derbyshire village of Repton.
The new scheme will include 23 affordable homes, a children’s play area and a new link road.
Neil Woodhouse, a senior urban designer at Turley in Leeds said: “The site is a prominent location and represents a major urban extension to the village.
“The site was heavily constrained with access and drainage issues, but by working collaboratively with the local council we were able to develop a masterplan for the site that won the support of local officers. We are delighted with this decision.”
Turley in Birmingham and Leeds provided planning and urban design advice.
This application represents the second phase of a larger residential development within the village.
Phase 1 of the development, which was also lead by Turley in both a planning and urban design capacity, is now being taken forward by Miller Homes who have recently submitted a Reserved Matters Application for the site.
Outline planning consent has been secured on the large Phase 2 of the development, Hallam Land Management will now seek a development partner to help bring forward the remaining parts of this exciting development.
