Gent Visick swoops for DTZ’s industrial director

THE head of DTZ’s industrial agency team in Yorkshire has left the firm to join the rival team at Gent Visick.
Paul Mack has begun gardening leave and is expected to take up his new position as director at Gent Visick in August, joining Andrew Gent in a five-strong industrial agency team.
An industry source described Mr Mack “as one of the finest industrial agents in Yorkshire” and added: “Paul has a superb track record with DTZ, advising on some significant property deals during the past few years. This is a big loss for DTZ and a tremendous gain for Gent Visick.”
Mr Mack was with DTZ since 2003 and has advised on some key industrial property deals over the last few years including the letting of 140,000 sq ft at Sherburn Distribution Park to Optare and the 90,000 sq ft sale at Wakefield Europort to Unisurge.
It is the latest boost to the Gent Visick team following on from the arrival last year of Garry Howes as director of investment and the recruitment of Matt Harriman and Richard Henley.
Mr Mack’s departure follows that of his former colleague Jacques Esterhuizen, who had joined DTZ in 2010 and left for CBRE last July. They leave behind a team at DTZ which are all relatively new to the firm, as Daniel Mitchell joined DTZ as a graduate surveyor in January 2014, and he was subsequently joined by senior surveyors Nick McTague last September and Scott Morrison in January.
A DTZ spokesperson said they “are well advanced in our replacement strategy” for Mr Mack.
DTZ appointed a new head of its Leeds office in March, as Keith Hardman took the position to free up time for Tim Cameron-Jones who had been combining the job with his overall responsibility for the north. In March it recruited three people to its Leeds-based UK development team and announced five further recruits to the office earlier this month.
Gent Visick declined to comment.
