Castleford set for 560 homes and industrial development

PROPERTY regeneration firm Harworth Estates has been given planning consent for a “significant” Castleford residential development.
Harworth Estates, part of the Harworth Group, received outline planning permission from Wakefield Council for a Flass Lane development consisting of 560 homes, a pub and 50,000 sq ft light industrial units.
The application also included land for a road corridor for Wakefield’s proposed Southern Link Road scheme.
Tim Love, director of Harworth’s Strategic Land division, said: “We are delighted that we have received another planning consent in Yorkshire and we look forward to building on what we have achieved at the nearby Prince of Wales development.
“New housing remains in short supply in the UK. This is the seventh residential consent achieved by us in 2015 that will eventually provide over 2,000 new homes to the UK.
“Castleford is a strong local housing market due to its location and the competitive pricing of the housing on offer and we plan to deliver new homes on the site from next year.”
