Perfect timing as Victoria Quarter welcomes luxury watch store

LUXURY watch retailer Watchfinder is opening its first store in the North this month at Leeds’ Grade II-listed Victoria Quarter.

This will be Maidstone-based Watchfinder’s third store as it looks to expand, with other branches located in London and Kent.

The firm will be based in the Victoria Arcade, home to 70 other retailers including Harvey Nichols, Louis Vuitton and Mulberry.

It’s sister shopping complex Victoria Gate is currently under construction, and there are plans to link the two Hammerson-owned sites upon completion.

50 brands including Rolex, Omega and Breitling will be on sale at the pre-owned watch sellers.

This year, Watchfinder reported revenues of £36m after investing in its Kent store. It was founded in 2002 as an online watch seller. It attracted £6.47m investment from private equity firms Piton Capital and Beringea in September 2014.

Watchfinder co-founder, Lloyd Amsdon, said: “Leeds is the perfect city for our new store and we are delighted to be opening our first store in the North within the city’s unique Victoria Quarter.

“We’re looking forward to sharing our range of exclusive and luxurious products with new and existing customers.”

The new store will open in September in Leeds’ Victoria Quarter.
