Toyota signs up for a Leeds Bradford Airport distribution unit

A DEAL for a distribution centre at Leeds Bradford Airport has been signed by manufacturing supplier Toyota Tsusho UK.

The agreement for the 20,000 sq ft site at the LBA industrial estate was secured by landlord, Learmonth Property Investment Company.

Toyota Tsusho UK, which has leased a distribution centre to service its customers, is focused on purchase, supply chain, import, export, storage and distribution.

The firm is based in Derbyshire and is a subsidiary of the Toyota Tsusho Corporation, the sixth largest trading company in the world with 26,000 employees and over 30 offices and 180 subsidiaries

This deal follows the letting of the 101,000 sq ft Unit 9 warehouse to toy and games business Grant & Bowman.

James Hill, of Learmonth said: “We are delighted to welcome these two new quality tenants to the estate. It benefits from 24/7 on site security and CCTV, and we are able to offer large units on competitive and flexible lease terms.

“At the moment, we only have units up to around 100,000 sq ft available. However, in less than five months’ time, Units 6, 7 and 8 will become available, which total around 400,000 sq ft.

“Given the severe shortage of larger units available in the West Yorkshire area at the moment, these are a rare opportunity and so we expect to receive some good interest in them.”

Bilfinger GVA and Gent Visick are joint letting agents.

Andrew Gent of Gent Visick said “With demand now outstripping supply the forthcoming availability of space at the Leeds Bradford Airport Depot will provide the market with some well needed options”.
