M&S to create 80 jobs with Bradford opening

RETAILER Marks & Spencer, which first launched in Leeds’ Kirkgate market in 1884, has unveiled plans for their store at The Broadway in Bradford.

Set to create 80 jobs, the 40,000 sq ft site will have a 9,000 sq ft food hall and a 160-cover cafe along with their fashion and homeware offerings.

It will replace another M&S on Darley Street, which will close the day before, with all employees and departments moving to the new store, according to the retailer.

The Broadway Shopping Centre is set to open its doors officially on 5 November.

Store Manager, Steven King, said: “I am looking forward to welcoming customers to our new home at The Broadway Bradford.

“The new store will offer customers an even bigger and better range of fashion, beauty, homeware and food, as well as a 160-seat M&S Café.

“We hope that new and old customers will join us on 5 November to see all of the new and exciting features that we will be bringing to the area.”

Myf Ryan, Westfield director of Marketing said: “We are delighted to be welcoming M&S to The Broadway in November.

“M&S is a great addition to our retailer line-up and will play a big part in creating an unrivalled shopping environment for the people of Bradford.”
