Hallelujah! X Factor star to open The Broadway
THE X FACTOR singer whose winner’s single was “Hallelujah” is to open the long-awaited Broadway shopping centre in Bradford next month.
Alexandra Burke, who won the TV talent show contest in 2008, is currently touring in the theatre production of The Bodyguard, which will be playing in Sheffield when the centre opens on November 5.
More than 300 people will be given access to the centre two hours before opening for a VIP viewing and performance by Ms Burke, before the launch weekend begins in earnest.
The £260m development will create 2,500 new retail jobs and is the largest retail centre in the country to open in 2015. The Broadway includes anchor tenants Marks & Spencer and Debenhams, and high street fashion brands such as H&M, Next and River Island.
