Appointments: Enjoy Digital, PwC, Berwins, JWP Creers

COMMUNICATIONS director Chris Hughes has been appointed at Leeds firm Enjoy Digital.

Mr Hughes will lead the PR, SEO and content marketing offerings of the firm. He joins from Epiphany where he held roles as head of PR and commercial director for Shackleton, the firm’s PR and social media arm.

Enjoy Digital recently moved to a larger office on the Calls in Leeds to accommodate its team of 35 and support future growth. It works with brands including the University of Leeds, the Bank of Ireland, and Costcutter.

Will Oxley of PwCWILL OXLEY is joining PwC as a partner and transaction services specialist in the firm’s Yorkshire and North East practice.

He joins PwC from Grant Thornton, where he led the transaction services team, and was an office senior partner.

Mr Oxley has advised on regional transactions including the disposal of TSC Foods, the change in market by CPP, the refinancing and MBO of Adare Group, as well as a number of strategic acquisitions for listed businesses.

He will be working closely with Nigel Ward, Stephen Moore, Arif Ahmad and Paul Mankin to grow the Yorkshire & North East practice and maintain the firm’s market leading position within the deals sector.

LAW firm Berwins has appointed James Talbot, formerly of Aviva, to its digital team.

Harrogate-based Berwins has appointed Mr Talbot as a solicitor in its digital law team, which has seen major growth following recognition in the Legal 500.

Berwins also completed a revamp of its Harrogate office and digital presence with a new website delivered by another Harrogate business, award-winning agency Extreme Creations.

Carolynn Peace, Berwins’ director said: “We wanted our office and site to be modern, smart and accessible in line with our brand.

“Our Digital Law Team is expanding rapidly and its success was what attracted James to come on board. With this growth, we felt it was the right time to roll out a new website with the additional functionality that our sophisticated digital clients expect.”

THREE apprentices have joined North Yorkshire accountants and business advisers, JWP Creers.

The trio of Heather Bennett, Laura Woosey and Chris Turton will initially undergo three years training certified by the Association of Accounting Technicians.

They have joined JWP Creers’ Audit and Accounts Department in York led by managing partner, Nigel Clemit.

They follow the appointment of four trainees in August 2014 who joined the firm’s Charities Team, the Landed Estates Team and the Audit and Accounts Team.

JWP Creers training partner, Jill Campbell, who also entered accountancy as an apprentice, and is the only current female partner within the firm, says: “As a firm with its roots in York more than a century ago, JWP Creers has refined its own approach to technical excellence and diligent client service and we like to train and nurture our own staff so they can fully absorb this as they develop.
