Property developer Candelisa quintuples profits

PROPERTY developer Candelisa has quintupled profits in their housing division in one year.

The firm, which employs 15 people, is reporting profits of £3.2m for the last 12 months, up from £620,000 last year.

Candelisa has also moved to 4,000 sq ft offices in Skipton, Caroline House, allowing space for further expansion.

Caroline House forms part of Providence Quarter, Candelisa’s flagship redevelopment of the former Skipton Building Society headquarters.

The firm has transformed them into a residential site with 47 apartments. IT has also received planning permission for 291 homes in North Leeds, Harrogate and Craven District, and has undertaken residential schemes in Barbados.

Guy Taylor, managing director of Candelisa, said: “This is an exciting time for the business as we look to expand into new areas.

“Traditionally we have focussed on refurbishment and regeneration projects with a strong emphasis on design and individuality. We are now using those skills and philosophies to provide fully bespoke new build housing.

“Too much of the new build market is dominated by the major players whose product offering is predictable, repetitive and unimaginative, and we are looking to change that.

“Furthermore we are privately funded which means we can react quickly to opportunities as they arise.”
