Stage is set for BBC One drama to film in Leeds

LEEDS production company Rollem Productions has started filming on the BBC One drama In the Club.

Penned by Kay Mellor, OBE, who also wrote The Syndicate, the drama will be filmed in Leeds, following six expecting couples as they embark on a parenting class.

Ms Mellor, who owns Rollem Productions, the Leeds-based production company founded in 2000, is producing the series.

In The Club was commissioned by Charlotte Moore, controller BBC One and Polly Hill, controller of drama commissioning for the BBC, and it includes actors such as Hermione Norris, Luke Thompson, Katherine Parkinson, Tara Fitzgerald, Jonathan Kerrigan, Will Mellor and Jill Halfpenny. New cast members include Paul Nicholls and Sandra Huggett.

Series two of In the Club will air in 2016.
