Luxury lingerie firm signs major ecommerce deal with logistics company

LOGISTICS business Torque has signed a deal with luxury lingerie and sleepwear brand Bluebella.

Torque will, from February 2016, take on all ecommerce operations, freight and stock management for Bluebella.

Torque, which employs 450 people in Worley, manages the wholesale stock overseeing deliveries from suppliers and shipments to Bluebella’s Leeds distribution centre.

Emily Bendell, founder and chief executive of Bluebella said: “We chose Torque because, as a fast growing business, we needed a provider that was incredibly flexible and keen to support us throughout our current growth period and beyond.”

Torque is an independent logistics company with a turnover of £60m employing over 900 people across sites in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Wigan and London.

Providing over 1.8 million sq ft of warehousing capacity, Torque operates globally for customers ranging from large and famous high street names to small internet retailers.

Other current Torque customers include women’s active wear brand Sweaty Betty; luxury knitwear manufacturer and importer Pringle of Scotland; La Redoute the e-commerce specialist for French fashion; business work wear retailer TM Lewin and leading hair piece specialist Daxbourne International.
