Business park scheme planned for former college site

A PROPERTY development and investment company is planning to bring 100 jobs to the Roundhay Road area in Leeds through the development of the former Thomas Danby College site.

Leeds-based Bridge Estates purchased the site last June and has started to knock down the college buildings. It expects to begin work on building a five-unit business park scheme on the five-acre site in the summer.
Paul Crabtree, from Bridge Estates, said: “The site we are developing will bring a number of employment opportunities to the local community and it has already attracted a significant level of interest from occupiers looking for high quality units in a well-established location.
The site’s development is being supported by funding from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Richard Butterfield, relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: “The funding we’ve provided has enabled them to make considerable headway in redeveloping this site into a thriving business park which will bring prosperity to the area.”

The Thomas Danby College site, which has been derelict since 2014, is the largest owned by Bridge Estates which specialises in commercial property development across Yorkshire.
