Grade I-listed hotel gets £9.5m spa extension

VISITORS to Rudding Park Hotel are set to relax with the £9.5m spa extension which is underway.

Banking support from Santander Corporate and Commercial has allowed the independently-owned hotel to expand.

Rudding Park Hotel, Spa & Golf is based near Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

The spa extension will add to the facilities which include a 90-bed four star hotel, AA rosette Clocktower restaurant as well as cinema, conference centre, and an existing spa.

The grade I-listed Regency house will have a rooftop garden with outdoor treatment areas, hot tubs, a sauna and a new restaurant.

All the additions will be available to guests, with a”limited number” of annual memberships available.

Major expansion work happened in 2009 to add 34 bedrooms and other facilities were added to the hotel.

Peter Banks, managing director at Rudding Park said: “We are delighted to be working with Santander on the next exciting phase of the development of Rudding Park. Together we will produce a destination Spa that will recapture Harrogate’s Spa heritage.

“Alastair and the team at Santander have been very flexible and helpful in funding this fantastic project and we look forward to working closely with them over the coming years.”

Alastair Morris, relationship director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “We are both delighted and extremely proud to have been chosen by the Board at Rudding Park to be their new Bankers and support this project.

“The new development has been sympathetically designed and we have no doubt it will be a huge success.”
