M-way closed for hours after three-lorry crash

THE westbound M62 into Yorkshire was reopened after several hours following an accident involving three lorries, including a car transporter.

A rolling roadblock was initiated on the easbound side of the motorway to allow an Air Ambulance to land at the scene.

A man believed to be in his 60s has suffered serious injuries.

Reports from the scene near Rishworth Moor eastbound drivers have been turning round to avoid delays.

Police say they were called to the scene at 12.18pm. The carriageway was later reopened around 6pm.
