New jobs for marketing firm as its eyes double turnover

INTERNET marketing and graphic design firm Ludo Studio is aiming to double its turnover as it creates four new jobs.

The Hull-based company, which was founded in 2007 and employs 15 people, operates two sector-targeted marketing brands – Retail Centred and Optimised Law – as well as MY Office Branding and MY Vehicle Wrap, which offer graphic design and printing services.

After receiving a £50,000 business loan from Finance Yorkshire, the firm is now looking to grow its £1m turnover to £2.5m in five years, as well as doubling its workforce in that period.

The investment will be used to create four jobs as well as fund business development, marketing material and telemarketing.

Ludio Studio managing director Chris Middleton said the firm had initially launched as a marketing company that did “all things for all people” until it honed in on its shopping centre and legal clients.

“This led us to create two new brands and we structured our team internally to develop these markets further,” he said. “The investment from Finance Yorkshire will enable us to reach the next stage in our development.”

Darren Trice of Kaizen Consulting introduced Ludo Studio to Finance Yorkshire and has worked alongside the company’s directors to produce a strategic growth plan.

Ian Atkinson, investment manager at Finance Yorkshire, said the Ludo Studio team is “totally focussed on taking advantage of the growth opportunities presented by their business brands”.

The loan is the latest in a spree of deals from Finance Yorkshire, which reached its £100m milestone in January with a £175,000 seedcorn investment in paint company Renu-TPS.

It has also invested in production company Televideo, metalworking business Laser & Fabrications, uniform retailer The Business Wear Company, Leeds Brewery and JBC Industrial Services since the start of the year.
