Appointments: Gordons; Blacks Solicitors; Bridge McFarland

LAW firm Gordons has boosted its residential conveyancing team with a trio of hires.

Ann Carter has joined as a conveyancing executive, having previously worked with Keighley firm Burr Sugden. She brings a wealth of experience and a great deal of knowledge to her new role, having been a key member of the residential conveyancing team at Burr Sugden for 14 years.

Also recently joining the residential team are conveyancing executive Michelle Jackson and legal executive Victoria Martin. Ms Jackson joins Gordons from Blacks, while Ms Martin previously worked at Advantage Property Lawyers.

Gordons’ partner Victoria Davey said: “Ann, Victoria and Michelle each bring a wealth of experience with them and I am very pleased to be welcoming these three talented women to the firm.

“Residential conveyancing is an important part of the property work we undertake in the Yorkshire region and beyond and the expansion of the team is further evidence of our commitment to this division of the firm.”

THE wills and probate team at Blacks Solicitors in Leeds has welcomed a new addition.

Zoë Nicholson joins the department as an associate solicitor.

Ms Nicholson’s expertise lies in both non-contentious and contentious probate work, while she also has experience regarding all aspects of Court of Protection Work, particularly with elderly clients who require support with health and care decisions and protection of financial affairs.

A COMMERCIAL property specialist who has worked in the Hull area since qualifying in 2003 has been appointed to the expanding team at Bridge McFarland Solicitors.

Kate Seward, who joins the firm from Andrew Jackson, will work on commercial property on both sides of the Humber from Bridge McFarland’s offices in Hull and Grimsby.

Ms Seward comes from East Yorkshire and studied at Sheffield University before returning to Hull to finish her training contract with Sandersons in 2003. She moved to Andrew Jackson the following year and worked in real estate, moving into general property in 2008.

With a client base ranging from individuals to SMEs and some national companies as well as major banks, her workload has included advising on acquisitions and disposals, corporate support, business sales, leasehold management and advising banks and property developers.
