Mobeus backs aviation security training firm in £3.7m deal

MOBEUS Equity Partners has agreed a £3.7m deal with training business Redline Assured Security.

Redline provides security training, quality assurance and consulting, mainly within the aviation sector. The Doncaster-based business has a workforce of 80 staff and 200 associates.

The business has traditionally focused on UK clients but will target international markets following the investment. Redline is the only private company globally that is directly endorsed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

Former military helicopter pilots Paul Mason and Jim Termini founded the business and are backed by chairman Sir Gary Coward, former Chief of Matériel (Land) and Quartermaster-General to the UK Armed Forces.

Mobeus partner and transaction lead Richard Babington said: “Britain is renowned worldwide for the quality of its aviation security, and Redline is the pre-eminent provider of aviation security training and quality assurance in Britain. We are delighted to be backing Paul, Jim and Redline as it continues to accelerate its development into Europe, the Middle East and Asia.”

Redline CEO Mr Mason added that the business will “maximise the opportunity to make a real difference in a very uncertain world”.

Andrew Lock of Lock Dutton Corporate Finance introduced Mobeus to the deal, while Squire Patton Boggs provided legal advice. Financial due diligence was carried out by Dow Schofield Watts and commercial due diligence was provided by Fairgrove Partners.
