50 jobs promised as business park gets underway

WORK has begun on the £3m Marrtree Business Park in South Yorkshire.

The site, at the retail and industrial development Quest Park in Doncaster, will create 50 jobs upon completion.

It is due to be completed in January 2017.

The site, on the A630 Wheatley Hall Road, will include 47,000 sq ft of trade units and warehousing.

The scheme will include a total of 16 individual units ranging from 1,500 sq ft to 10,000 sq ft.

Quest Park is home to brands, including Toyota, Audi, Dulux and pharmaceutical wholesaler Mawdsleys.

Developer Marrtree have recently completed a 20,000 sq ft development at St James Business Park in Knaresborough.

The Marrtree group of companies, run by brothers William and George Marshall, has operated for over 60 years and is now based at Cardale Park in Harrogate.

William Marshall said: “We hope the Doncaster development will help address the shortage of quality space available in South Yorkshire for trade counter businesses.

“Thanks to rapidly improving transport links such as the new FARRRs link road between the M18 and the airport, the area is rapidly becoming seen as an excellent location to do business.”

Tim Hazeltine, investment manager at Business Doncaster, said: “Doncaster’s economy seems to have a new confidence and a strong pent up appetite for new quality accommodation.

“We’re extremely pleased to see Marrtree break ground on this new development and we look forward to working with them to help make this a fully occupied and successful investment for the town.”

The Sheffield office of agency Commercial Property Partners has been appointed to market Marrtree Business Park in Doncaster.
