Cocktail bar launched on former Rare restaurant site

COCKTAIL bar and restaurant Mr Nobody has opened up at the former site of steak restaurant Rare.
Rare went into administration last year, before it was bought by Avant Garde for £1m, saving 20 jobs.
Now, Mr Nobody has taken over the site on Lower Briggate.
Three entrepreneurs launched the new restaurant under their Avant Garde banner: John Farrar, a chef who has worked for no less than 11 Michelin starred restaurants; Andrew Trudgill, the barman left Sheffield to hone his craft in London, he was placed in the top 6 UK World Class for mixology; and David Pickard, a self-confessed ‘computer geek’ bringing qualifications in computer programming and electrical engineering to the table.
The three are directors of Sheffield wholesale drinks company and bar venture, Avant Garde, which bought the site at 163 Lower Briggate last year.
The ‘new kid on the block’ Mr Nobody will be offering cocktails, nibbles and small plates, from a Spanish-inspired menu.
Stone bass with scraps, dripping and beer vinaigrette provide a twist to a British staple, small plates such as the ox heart and lamb sweetbreads spiced with Indian flavours add something a bit more exotic to the menu.
Snacks are between £2 and £4, larger dishes £5-12 and puddings £3-6
