Jobs saved after printing firm goes into administration

A PRINTING firm has been saved after being placed in administration.

Joint administrators Keith Marshall and Gareth Harris of RSM Restructuring Advisory were appointed to GKD Litho on 11 March.

The 30-year old business had been experiencing cashflow difficulties as sales levels declined.

The digital and litho print business was based on Strawberry Street in Hull.

A two week sale process was accelerated as the business looked for a suitable buyer.

GKD Print Ltd was created for the purpose of buying the older business on behalf of Anthony Cockcroft, who is listed on incorporation documents on Companies House.

The 16 employees of GKD Litho Limited transferred under TUPE Regulations to GKD Print Limited.

Keith Marshall, restructuring partner based out of RSM’s Hull and Leeds offices and one of the Joint Administrators said: “The sale of the business and assets to GKD Print Limited is a positive outcome which has not only saved jobs but the rescue preserves a strong established local Hull business, reduces disruption for customers and ensures continuity in the supply chain.”
