Developer gets green light for 10,000 sq ft store

REGENERATION specialist St. Modwen has secured planning to develop a 10,000 sq ft Farmfoods store in Doncaster.

The development of the new store at Crompton Retail Park on Wheatley Hall Road, will mark the successful regeneration of the 13 acre site, formerly occupied by Tyco Electronics. Construction work will start in May.

On completion, the store is expected to create up to 20 full and part-time jobs. To date, has delivered around 120 local jobs.

Richard Bannister, regional director at St. Modwen, said: “Our commitment to redeveloping this prominent site in Doncaster has brought important investment and jobs to the local area. The new Farmfoods store will also be joined by Subway, both excellent additions to the improved retail and leisure facilities already in place, including a 40,000 sq ft Dunelm store, a family-friendly Marston’s public house and a new Goals Soccer Centre.”

St. Modwen recently begun work to deliver the first phase of a major new 250,000 sq ft commercial development at Parkside Business Park, also on Wheatley Hall Road.

Adam Mobley at WSB Property Consultants in Leeds advised St. Modwen.
