What was the last picture you took on your phone?

My daughter, Violet (aged 7), and dog, Indy (aged 6 months), locked in an embrace. Violet looks happier about it than the dog.

Greatest strengths: sense of humour, perseverance, loyalty.

Greatest weaknesses: I can be fairly grumpy when tired or stressed or both….

What does your job include/Title?

Providing the legal advice on a variety of private equity transactions.

What do you believe makes a great leader?

Vision, commitment and a little humility

What has been your biggest challenge in your current position?

The recession between 2008 and 2012 wasn’t a nice time for anyone.

Where do you see the company in five years-time?

Doing what we’re doing now but in more countries and with even greater specialisation.

What advice would you give to an aspiring business leader?

Be careful what you wish for…

Who is your most successful/famous contact in your phone?

I have lots of very successful contacts but not many famous ones…

Who is your role model in life/business?

I always felt that I learnt a lot from Andrew Walker when I was at Simpson Curtis and Noel Hutton at Hammonds.

Which city in the world, other than Leeds of course, would you like to work?
