Callcredit set to make redundancies in marketing reshuffle

CREDIT solutions business Callcredit Information Group has announced that it will be making redundancies as it looks to downsize its marketing division.
The Leeds-based business said that it was restructuring its Marketing Solutions department following “regulatory developments” in the marketing data sector.
As a result of this restructure, Callcredit said the division needs a “smaller, more focused team.”
In a statement the business said: “Unfortunately this means that the company needs to reduce the number of employees working in its Marketing Solutions business and has regrettably entered into a period of consultation with a small number of employees.”
In January, the company suspended the selling data for prospecting by telephone, email and SMS from its database meets regulatory standards.
Callcredit has merged its four Marketing Solutions sales teams into one sales force.
The new, integrated sales force has been structured around specialist sectors in banking, insurance, utilities, financial services, retail, gaming, travel and leisure and partners.
Earlier today the business announced the appointment of Steve McNicholas as managing director of its Marketing Solutions division, taking over from Will Lowe.
