Serious accident closes A64
2PM UPDATE: This incident has now been cleared and traffic is returning to normal.
NORTH Yorkshire Police have closed part of the A64 York Bypass has closed after a serious accident near Murton, to the east of the city.
Congestion is affecting traffic all the way along the A64 heading eastbound from the Fulford Interchange.
The road is closed eastbound between the A166/A1079 (Murton) and the A1237 (Hopgrove Roundabout).
Road users wishing to continue their journey east, exit the A64 at the A1079 junction (Hull Road), proceed along the A1079. Turn right onto ‘Foss Islands Road’ then the A1036 to re-join the A64.
