£300,000 export contracts are ticket to growth for BemroseBooth Paragon
A HULL business which is a leading supplier of magnetic and smart tickets has secured seven export contracts in the last three months with a combined value of more than £300,000.
Houston Metro, C-Trans, Miami, Sacramento, Minneapolis, Ace Parking USA and Paracard OSLO have all chosen BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP) as preferred supplier of paper-based bus, rail and parking tickets which provide access through gates and barriers in car parks and at stations.
Director of sales and marketing at BBP, Richard Farmer, says: “The transport and parking sectors are an exciting and challenging environment, with the gradual introduction of new ticketing technology continually pushing us to develop new smart solutions, however we also continue to offer traditional products and services that are very much in demand, not just in the UK or Europe but throughout the world.
“We have worked extremely hard and can now confirm that we supply every continent in the world other than China. Securing seven export contracts in three months is something that we are extremely proud of and we look forward to further successes in the coming months.”
As well as manufacturing tickets, BBP is one of the only suppliers to produce magnetic ink on site thanks to a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Hull.
A collaborative investment of more than £300,000 was used to develop the process in-house with the support of a chemistry graduate from the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
BBP is a trading division of Paragon, which over the last 12 months has produced over a billion magnetic tickets to support the UK rail network alone.
