Thieves steal 600 bottles of French wine from Ilkley premises

AN investigation has launched into the theft of 600 bottles of wine worth thousands of pounds near Ilkley.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft of the pallet from a premises in a rural area near Langbar.

It is unclear which venue the wine was destined for, but there are several high end restaurants in the area including at The Devonshire Arms and Burlington Restaurant at Bolton Bridge, and The Craven Heifer. Ilkley wine theft

It is thought that following the delivery on Tuesday 8 November, the pallet went missing overnight. It was last seen at 8pm and noticed missing the following morning. 

The pallet contained a variety of wine worth thousands of pounds in total, including nearly 300 bottles of Domaine des Verchères Mâcon Villages 2014.

Police said that a vehicle would have been required to move the wine.
