Michelin star chef plates up at Mr.Nobody

LEEDS’ first Michelin Star chef Jeff Baker, is set to return to the city to cook an exclusive eight course meal for a small number of lucky guests.

The prestigious chef, who has previously cooked for the Queen, will be plating up at Mr Nobody Restaurant and Cocktail Bar at Lower Briggate in Leeds.

Following the refurbishment of the restaurant’s cocktail bar, co-owner and head chef John Farrar was looking for further exposure for the restaurant and so will be working shoulder to shoulder with Jeff to create the range of dishes.

He said: “Jeff was a big part of my mentorship as I was growing up and was the person I looked to for advice. So we just decided we’d do something together one day and now that day is here.”

The courses will offer something different to the dishes usually on the menu at Mr. Nobody. Halibut with pineapple and sauternes is just one of the courses the pair will be plating up for guests this Friday.

“That’s one of the things that I’ve used quite a lot over the years, but its something I learned with Jeff so its one of the recipes that’s really stuck with me.

“We’re also going to do some of Jeff’s really amazing, beautiful bread – which uses a three day natural fermentation process with some thyme at room temperature for three days and it comes out and its just the most delicious bread you can imagine.” John added.

For the remaining dishes, John revealed that they will be serving up langoustine dim sum, scallops, salted cod, lambs brain on a sweet potato meringue, and either grouse or beef Rossini for the main course. A grazing plate of various “chocolate textures” will be served for dessert.
