RFL terminates Bradford membership after administration

THE Rugby Football League has terminated Bradford Bulls’ membership following its third time in administration in as many years.

The Bulls have entered administration in 2014 and 2015, and before that in 2012. Chairman Marc Green blamed pressure from creditors particularly HMRC. He intends to buy the club out of administration in the “shortest practicable time frame.”

Now governing body RFL has terminated the club’s membership which means it faces possible points deduction or relegation following the announcement yesterday.

The four-time Super League winners were relegated in 2014 after receiving a six-point deduction for entering administration.

The RFL said: “As is normal when a club enters administration, the RFL board has terminated Bradford Bulls Northern Limited’s’ membership of the RFL.

“This is clearly a distressing time for supporters, players and employees of Bradford Bulls. We will aim to keep them updated of any progress as and when we can.”
