Plans in for 300 lodge Yorkshire Dales holiday park

PLANS have been drawn up for a £100m holiday lodge park near Skipton, North Yorkshire.
The development, near the Yorkshire Dales National Park, was submitted by Wardell Armstrong on behalf of Ballan.
The site in question is to the west of the village of Hellifield adjacent to the train station, and if approved, plans would see 300 lodges on the 78.5 acre site.
Each lodge will be around 6.5m high, but square footage and detailed proposals have not yet been assessed.
A combined leisure and hotel for the site has also been proposed on the site, which has long been designated for tourism development, is also adjacent to Gallaber Leisure Park and Caravan site.
The site will cost £100m according to planners, and deliver around 500 permanent positions.
Initial discussions on the development were launched with Craven District Council in 2009 during talks on a previous iteration of the scheme.
