People: Wealth advisory appointment boosts Grant Thornton; Addleshaw Goddard hire for Emsleys Solicitors; and more
ADVISORY firm Grant Thornton has announced another key addition to its Yorkshire practice, with the appointment of Mark Carter to the wealth advisory team.
Mr Carter’s financial services career spans over 30 years, having previously held senior level roles with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, Prudential Assurance, AIG, AXA wealth and Clerical Medical.
He will work within the wealth advisory team across Leeds and Sheffield, delivering bespoke advice to clients on financial planning and wealth management.

BRIAN GODFREY, the former group financial accountant at Addleshaw Goddard, has joined Emsleys Solicitors in Leeds as head of finance.
Mr Godfrey brings over 10 years’ experience in accountancy. Prior to his time at Addleshaw Goddard, he was based in London where he specialised in accountancy and audit in public practice at businesses including BDO.
Meanwhile, Anna Hinchcliffe, a graduate in linguistics with German, joins the marketing team from the Press Association where she was as a content producer.

HOUSING developer Barratt Developments has welcomed Mike Roberts as its new regional managing director for the Northern Region.
Mr Roberts will be responsible for managing the Yorkshire East, Yorkshire West and North East divisions, heading up an 800-strong workforce.
Having worked in the construction and housebuilding industry for 32 years and with Barratt Developments, which includes both the Barratt and David Wilson Homes brands, since 2008, Mr Roberts will be based in York at the Barratt Yorkshire East office.
