Artificial limb supplier signs up to Leeds business park

HUGH STEEPER, the supplier of artificial limbs, specialist footwear, braces and supports, has taken space at a Leeds business park in a deal which sees the estate fully let.

The letting by GVA at Unit 3 Stourton Link will see the company, which supplies to the healthcare industry and the public, relocate from nearby premises and carry out a fit-out of the 52,000 sq ft facility on a 10 year lease.

The unit was built speculatively in 2005 and had previously been occupied by Leeds College of Building. It was refurbished by RLAM following the college’s departure.

The deal with Hugh Steeper follows the letting of the adjacent Unit 4 which is 36,000 sq ft and was taken by Troy Foods.

Of similar age, Unit 4 had been occupied for a considerable time by Robert Horne Paper. Following its departure, the unit was refurbished by RLAM.

RLAM owns both units, along with the larger unit to the rear of the estate which is occupied by SIG.

James Orr, senior fund manager at RLAM, said: “We aim to invest in high quality facilities throughout the UK. With both units, we were confident that if we undertook the right refurbishment works, the units would let to good quality tenants.

“We are pleased both occupiers chose our estate and hope they have a long and successful period with us.”

Rob Oliver, director at the Yorkshire office of GVA, who marketed the units and negotiated both deals, added: “This estate is very well connected for local road and motorway access, and the units are built to modern standards and specifications.

“With the stock shortages in the market continuing, we spoke to a wide range of occupiers about these units, and were pleased to secure good lettings to both RSL Steeper and Troy Foods.”

Hugh Steeper was represented by Knight Frank and Troy Foods by DJS Surveyors.
