Region’s food producers to be showcased at key global event

THE Regional Food Group for Yorkshire and Humber (RFG) will be representing regional food from Britain for the first time at a Dubai food event.
Gulfood is a four day exhibition designed to enable manufacturers, distributors and suppliers from the around the world to conduct business with representatives from the food and hospitality trade.
Deliciouslyorkshire, RFG’s consumer brand, will showcase food and drink producers from the region including gluten, wheat and lactose-free supplier Delicious Alchemy, which produces a range of cakes, muesli, biscuits, pizza bases, scones and porridge. The company already has interest from buyers in Dubai.
Aunt Bessie’s, part of the William Jackson & Son Group, North Yorkshire-based Bleiker’s Smokehouse, Holme Farmed Venison, Mr Moo’s Real Dairy Ice Cream, rapeseed oil producer Wharfe Valley Farms, Yorkshire Crisps, and award-winning ice cream producer Yorvale will also be featured.
Deliciouslyorkshire member Mumtaz Ventures will be exhibiting from their own stand. The company specialises in manufacturing a wide range of food products from the Kashmir region of Pakistan.
Zeina Foods, also a Delciouslyorkshire member, will also be exhibiting products from their own stand. The established family business specialises in award-winning nut, dried fruit and chocolate products.
RFG chief executive Jonathan Knight, who will be attending the event, said: “As an organisation we already have more than 40 members exporting produce to countries all over the world.
“Exporting to the Gulf States is attractive from both retail and food service viewpoints, due to the rise in Western-style hospitality, the high percentage of company headquarters based there and the growing ex-pat community. The region also sources for Indian and African markets.
