Forsyth steps in to secure future for 16 firms

YORKSHIRE-BASED Forsyth Business Centres has stepped in to secure a serviced office building in Leeds city centre which was due to be closed by MLS Group.

The move provides a future for 16 companies which are based in the 15,000 square foot building at 117 The Headrow in the city.

Forsyth, part of Sheffield United Football Club chairman Kevin McCabe’s global property specialist, Scarborough Group International, has taken over management of the building on behalf of the landlord, KG Properties.

The management contract for the property sees Forsyth managing offices over four floors and maintaining the accommodation and services for the existing tenants, including recruitment agencies and web-design companies.

David Harrop, finance director at Forsyth Business Centres, said: “We are delighted to be in a position to offer security to the existing tenants in this property and to offer Forsyth serviced office facilities to businesses in Leeds.

“The management contract deal with KG Properties is a prime example of how Forsyth can solve landlord’s property problems.  We can step in at short notice to help landlords with problem properties and generate immediate cashflow for them. This follows Forsyth’s ethos of not only providing the best serviced office provision to tenants, but increasingly to offer specialist business support for landlords.”

Management of 117 The Headrow builds on Forsyth’s continuing UK expansion which has seen the company recently open new serviced offices in Darlington, Hemel Hempstead, Datchet, Tunbridge Wells and Gelderd Point in Leeds.

Forsyth’s broad portfolio of serviced offices now spans the UK and emerging Asian markets. Alongside resident tenants, the Leeds centre also provides virtual office space to seven clients who use the centre’s postal address and a business telephone number.

Forsyth’s expansion capitalises on current economic conditions, which make it prohibitive for many companies to tie into long term leases.

Forsyth serviced offices provide businesses with a variety of facilities ranging from office accommodation, meeting rooms, reception services, telephony, mailing addresses and secretarial support.
