Jaguar specialist expands after fast start
A NORTH Yorkshire garage set up by two Jaguar car specialist technicians is expanding after winning new business.
Harrogate Jaguar Specialists, founded by two technicians who were made redundant, has expanded into bigger premises at Pannal Business Park – site of the former Dunlopillo Factory.
Business partners, Rollington Walden, 55 and Trevor Montgomery, 30, founded the new business after losing their jobs as foreman and master technician and senior technician respectively when Minster Jaguar closed its Knaresborough dealership.
Their new business, initially based in a former garage off Skipton Road, Harrogate, is now expanding.
Mr Montgomery said: “Minster Jaguar’s decision to re-structure has turned out in creating a major career opportunity for Rollington and I after it initially felt as if we were being thrown on the scrap heap at a time when the economy was still in a downward spiral.
“Our new business is going well and we decided to expand into bigger premises because our initial garage was small with no room for expansion and did not present the right image to customers.”
Harrogate Jaguar Specialists has invested in the latest Jaguar vehicle diagnostic technology and says it hopes to employ another technician as the business continues to grow.
The company received commercial property legal advice from Harrogate solicitors, Barber Titleys.
