Firms join forces to expand Northern wedding show

THE North’s biggest designer wedding show Yorkshire Brides is to double in size to rival national London wedding shows.

Yorkshire Brides founder and event director Cathy McConaghy has formed a partnership with Bradford-based event supply company Amplitude AV Services to develop plans to grow the Harrogate event and further invest in the Yorkshire Brides brand.

The new alliance will see the two firms re-launch and re-brand the event, which will now take place at the Yorkshire Event Centre on the Great Yorkshire Showground to enable exhibitor levels to increase to 250.

The new and improved wedding show will see more zoned areas, exciting new seminars, more exhibitors, the introduction of a larger fashion catwalk show and an Asian Bride event.

Ms McConaghy said it was the aim of both firms to build a Northern show that rivals the national London wedding shows by investing in both the event and the Yorkshire Brides brand to improve the experience for its exhibitors and thousands of visiting brides and grooms alike.

“I am very excited to be working with Amplitude. The company’s expertise and financial backing will enable Yorkshire Brides to grow and offer an enhanced experience for brides and grooms,” she added.

“It has taken a decade to build the show to such a prestigious level with increasing visitor numbers year on year and I look forward to improving it further.”

Chris Conderson, director of Amplitude commented: “With more than 14 years experience staging events for client, it was a natural step to look to invest in our own exhibition.

“We know that the show is a huge success and can’t believe what Cathy has achieved solo. We aim to help her realise her plans and make the event the biggest and best wedding show in the country.”
