Jobs to be created as Manor Park takes shape

WORK has started on the £5m Manor Park development in Old Malton, North Yorkshire.
Redworth Construction, which is behind the project, believes 100 jobs will be created during Manor Park’s 12 to 18 month construction period.
Manor Park will comprise 27,000 sq ft of prime office development in five buildings, each with their own car parking and cycle bays.
The buildings are available on leasehold or virtual freehold and the offices can be divided to suit requirements from 1,000 sq ft upwards.
Joanne Williams, Redworth’s business development manager, said: “There will be a tremendous demand for local sub-contractors to work at Manor Park. We need painters, decorators, plumbers, groundworkers, electricians, plasterers and general labourers.
“This should give the Malton and Ryedale job market a much-needed boost in this difficult economic climate.”
Redworth is demonstrating its commitment to the development by relocating to Manor Park from its offices in Welham Road, Norton.
The two-acre Manor Park is less than a mile away from the market town of Malton.
Denise Stuart, Chief Executive of york-england.com, the organisation established to attract investment into York and North Yorkshire, said: “It is extremely positive to see new opportunities becoming available to the local supply chain. Even more pleasing is the fact that this boost is a direct outcome of one local firm’s success.
“I have no doubt that the office space developed by Redworth will be of high specification and will be an attractive addition to the property options available to businesses within the area and also to those looking to move to the area.
“This significant investment from Redworth shows their commitment to the local economy.”
Redworth specialises in construction work for care homes, social housing and children’s day nurseries across England and Scotland.
Clients include BUPA, Southern Cross, Disability Action Yorkshire, Yorkshire Housing and Norton College.
The company achieved a record year in 2008 with turnover of £30m.
