Boho style will suit your home

Do you want to transform your home into a harmonious place of well-being and unique style? Be inspired by boho style. Natural materials, a flood of colour and above all, a bright personality are key.

If Scandinavian minimalism is too austere for you and modern interiors are too cold, then boho style is the one for you. It’s distinctive, original and can be cosy, too! Get inspired with our tips on how to add a bit of bohemian atmosphere to your home.

Put yourself into your interior

There’s no one-size-fits-all guide to boho interiors. It is characterised by its owner’s personality. Think about the things that define you. Do you love to travel? Decorate the living room wall with souvenirs from your travels and decorate the walls with photos from your favourite destinations. Music lovers can reach for antique piano stools and hang vinyl records on the walls instead of paintings. Whether you love art, travel, food or animals, don’t be afraid to add a little bit of your personality to your interior.

Blankets, throws and lots of cushions

One thing boho interiors have in common is that the living room is the centre of all the action. The sofa is the centrepiece here. Dress it up with a load of patterned throws and a pile of cushions. It doesn’t matter if they’re small or large, batik, knitted or fringed. Mix and match different colours and motifs. Variety is one of the basic essentials of bohemian interiors.

Natural vibes only

If you want to really start transforming your interior, go for natural materials when choosing furniture and accessories. In boho style, solid wood, bamboo and rattan are the most common. For textiles, go natural too – think linen, wool and cotton. Don’t be shy of any embroidery or tapestry – we love to hang a particularly unique rug above the sofa, to make a stylish decor feature. Rugs are key, too – look out for funky hand woven ones, or jute if you want to tone down the patterns.

Don’t forget the plants!

Houseplants are vital to boho interiors. Rich greenery blends perfectly with natural materials and the flowers add a great atmosphere & finesse to the room. It doesn’t matter what plants you use to decorate your home,
just make sure you’re both willing and able to take care of them. Where to put them? Well, larger plants look good in wicker baskets, while smaller cacti and succulents look great in macramé hanging pots.
