Ginger Root takes 50% stake in garment printing firm

Nottingham design and print company Ginger Root has taken a 50% stake in city specialist embroidery and garment printing company, Pulse Customwear.

Ginger Root, based at Creative House in Colwick, says it has invested in the company following an increase in demand for printed clothing items. The move also follows a company rebrand, and raft of new appointments including designers, web developer and specialist installers, as well as investment in new printing machinery.

Andy Middleton, director at Ginger Root said: “Our ambition is to be the leading design, print and signage agency in Nottingham. We’re in a unique position as we’re able to produce printing products in-house, from small business cards, right up to window vinyls and large external signage, which means we can provide a much quicker, smoother and cost-effective service for clients.

“The demand for customised garments is growing – there’s been a real uplift in construction, retail and hospitality industries, which is having a positive knock-on effect for printed workwear and merchandise.

“Businesses are aware of the importance of brand recognition and realise more and more how much branded workwear and uniform plays a part in promoting and marketing their company and services.”

Pulse Customwear has been operating in Nottingham since 2012 and has moved from its premises in Westdale Lane to Creative House alongside Ginger Root.

“Pulse Customwear is still very much a stand-alone company,” said Middleton.

“But by working together, making referrals and operating under one roof both companies are able to provide more services to our growing client base and improve efficiencies.”

Hannah Bullock, director at Pulse Customwear said: “This is a big move for my business, and really exciting. I’m now working at larger premises with an increased access to excellent designers and equipment. My existing customers will see a benefit and it also opens to the door to more collaborative working with Ginger Root.

“Previously known as Pulse Customised Clothing, we’ve recently rebranded to become Pulse Customwear and looking to invest in new embroidery machinery and printing equipment. I am really looking forward to developing the business further with the support of Ginger Root.”
