Leicestershire housing scheme gets green light
Richborough Estates has secured planning consent for a new housing scheme north of Bottesford, Leicestershire.
Situated off Normanton Lane, the 14.22 acre site received a unanimous vote of approval from Melton Borough Council’s Planning Committee for 88 new homes – from two-bedroom starter homes to four-bedroom family properties – of which 37% will be affordable.
The new development will also bring forward areas of landscaped public open space, together with a new 30-bay car-park serving Bottesford Rail Station, a revamp of the existing station car-park and safety improvements to the level crossing.
Steve Louth, regional director at Richborough Estates, said: “Securing unanimous approval for a development is exceedingly rare and is a result of an extensive consultation process prior and during the determination of the planning application.
“The masterplan for the development makes the most of its location, in keeping with Bottesford’s village feel and we have sought to create an attractive entrance to the scheme, respecting the views of the historic church.
“The development will also provide areas of open green space for the enjoyment of residents and the general public, in addition to enhanced parking for Bottesford Station, increasingly used by commuters travelling into Nottingham.”
Fisher German has been appointed to manage the sale, whilst Liberty Stones, head of planning at Fisher German, secured planning permission for the site on behalf of Richborough Estates.

“We then selected land promoter Richborough Estates before helping to secure planning permission for the development on behalf of Richborough Estates and landowners.
“We are working with Richborough Estates to market the site over the coming months. Bottesford is an attractive village so this will be a sought after site for housebuilders – we are expecting a good level of interest.”
