Fashanne chooses Leicester for 2018 show

An East Midlands student fashion event is set to take place in Leicester for the very first time in 2018.

Fashanne – founded and organised by BBC East Midlands Today presenter, Anne Davies, will see leading fashion experts, talented design students, local businesses and the public come together in Leicester.

The event also intends to raise funds for Loughborough-based Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

The focus of the evening, the Fashanne Catwalk Show, will feature the latest designs from the very best fashion and textiles students at leading universities in the region including De Montford University.

Fashanne will continue the trend of booming investment in Leicester, which is set to increase to £116m for a range of schemes and projects in the city from 2018 to 2020. The event will provide business sponsors with the opportunity to network with brands such as Dunelm and Next and support the region’s Universities, whilst providing a unique corporate hospitality event for associates and colleagues.

Founder and director, Anne Davies, said: “Leicester is a growing, vibrant city, full of diversity and we wanted to celebrate that. Its heritage is built upon the fashion and textiles industry and there is fantastic creative talent within its companies and universities – so it was the obvious choice to host the Fashanne Awards for its biggest year yet.

“The centre piece of the evening, the catwalk show, will showcase the upcoming design potential from across the region, providing great recruitment benefits for sponsors.

“These sponsorship packages available will be integral to incorporating local businesses into the event, providing a useful networking opportunity whilst helping to boost Leicester’s growing reputation as an innovator in the East Midlands. We look forward to welcoming businesses from across Leicestershire to support the event.”
