£30m residential development to create 100 jobs

A £30m residential development in a Lincolnshire village will create 100 jobs during the construction process, according to developers.

The Parklands is being developed by Jackson Living, part of Jackson & Jackson Developments, just a few miles north of Lincoln city entre.

The Parklands will feature 155 homes as well as public amenities including a restaurant, kitchen garden, community allotments, open spaces, petanque area and an outdoor gym.

Works have now begun to upgrade the local woodland including creating accessible paths, the introduction of new species and the refurbishment of the existing ponds.

The 46.7-acre development is being delivered by a local team of contractors.

Dominik Jackson, director at Jackson & Jackson Developments, said: “After extensive planning with Lincoln-based Globe Consultants, we are pleased to be onsite. The Parklands is a carefully considered development that will offer a stunning place to live.

“We take great pride in job creation and where possible use local contractors, firstly as there is a great deal of talent in this industry in Lincolnshire but also to support the local economy.”

Lincoln-based environmental consultancy Delta-Simons is providing environmental planning services to ensure that wildlife inhabitants in the surrounding area are considered and that the development is respectful of the landscape assets, character, condition and ecological significance, whilst creating vibrant public spaces for residents to enjoy. This includes 200 newly planted trees and over two hectares of compensation woodland.

The landscape design will also feature 2km of native and ornamental hedgerow planting and a biodiversity area of over one hectares.

The build programme is being delivered by local construction consultancy LGG Projects.

Paul Jakuc, from LGG Projects, said: “The Parklands is in a spectacular area and we’re pleased to be working with Jackson Living to help deliver this scheme which was praised for its design and positive contribution that it would make to the village of Sudbrooke.

“The Parklands will be a wonderful place to live with a number of special amenities.”
