Leoch, one of the largest battery manufacturers in the world, has announced an agreement to invest in Leicestershire-based DBS Energy, forming a new company called DBS Leoch.

Leicestershire-based DBS Energy has supplied Leoch batteries to the UK market for seven years. The agreement will enable DBS Leoch to maintain a larger stockholding to meet customer demand, and will strengthen the company’s sales, operational and technical support functions.

Malcolm Howes, director at Leoch, said: “DBS Energy has been a long-term partner for Leoch in the UK and we’re delighted to extend this strong relationship further by directly investing in the company to drive business of our industry-leading batteries through their UK networks.”

Henry James, managing director of DBS Leoch added: “This agreement with Leoch confirms its commitment to DBS Energy and to expanding in the UK battery market. It provides us with a strong business platform to achieve our ambitious growth strategies. We’re really excited about working with Leoch to drive this growth and our aspiration to become the battery provider of choice to UK customers.”
