Housebuilder set to create 360 East Mids jobs

Avant Homes Central managing director, Stuart Rowlands

Chesterfield housebuilder Avant Homes Central has begun construction on a new £20m development of 75 homes in Woodthorpe, and has revealed it is set to create 360 jobs.

Called De Rhodes Point and situated off Cranleigh Road, the 9-acre development will provide a mix of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes.

Groundworks are underway and showhomes will be ready to view in January 2019. The first homes are expected to go on sale in October 2018 and be ready for occupation in Spring 2019. The development build is due for completion in 2020.

De Rhodes Point is the second Avant Homes Central development under construction in the region after the business was launched in July. The other is Klyppr Village in Clipstone, where 172 homes are currently being built.

The housebuilder has also agreed terms on an additional four sites which should be in production by the end of next April, subject to planning, and anticipates creating up to 360 jobs within the next nine months.

Avant Homes Central managing director Stuart Rowlands said: “We are very pleased to see work begin at De Rhodes Point as we begin to grow the Avant Homes Central business and bring our highly popular, design-led homes to even more people in Derbyshire.

“Woodthorpe is a hugely popular location for a wide range of buyers and we are looking forward to introducing them to our product and enhanced specification.”
