Hillarys Blinds to build new 50,000 sq ft headquarters

How the new office will look

Nottingham blinds and curtains manufacturer Hillarys is set to build a new head office after being granted planning permission by Gedling Borough Council.

The company says the new three-storey building, to be built on the site of a demolished warehouse at its Colwick Business Park home will be built “as soon as possible”. Hillarys had previously applied to build a new head office at the site in 2014.

The new 50,000 sq ft offices would be home to nearly 500 people – a huge increase on the 100 people who currently work in the old buildings as Hillarys looks to consolidate premises.

A design statement with the planning application reads: “The proposals are for the existing tenant of the units, Hillarys Blinds, who wish to remain in the location to retain and enhance the existing workforce whilst also providing a much improved and efficient working environment to drive the development of the business forward into the future.”
