PR and marketing agency Shooting Star is set to expand with a second East Midlands office.

The new office in Newark will be a homecoming for Newark-born Kerri Saxby, who has been an account manager at the company for more than three years, as she returns to her home town to head up the new site.

Saxby, who is also the current chairman of Newark Business Club, said: “I’m really looking forward to setting up the new office in my home town. Newark has a thriving business community and thanks to great transport links I can continue to support a variety of businesses across the UK.

“Since joining the Shooting Star team in 2015 I’ve supported more than 25 clients with their PR, marketing and social media activity, and helped them achieve some great results.

“I’m passionate about helping organisations shout about what makes them great, whether that’s through traditional news releases, copywriting for brochures, websites and social media or by training their staff to deliver some PR activities themselves.

“I can’t wait to get started and build the Newark team up as we secure more clients.”

The Newark office already has three new clients on its books: Labeyrie Fine Foods – which has offices in Warminster and Duns on the Scottish Borders – Replay Maintenance – whose offices are in Long Bennington and Newbridge in Midlothian – and Newark & Sherwood District Council.

Kate Strawson, co-director of Shooting Star, said: “Over the last three years the agency has been on a steep growth curve and opening another office location in Newark is a key part of our strategic development plan.

“Although we are very much a national agency with clients in all corners of the country, we pride ourselves on becoming a member of the team for our clients, so being able to visit them is key to building and maintaining those relationships.

“Kerri has been part of our award-winning team for almost four years and I’m pleased that she’s bringing her skills and experience to the Newark office.”
