Marketing NG chair considers simpler approach as interim chief exec is revealed

Stephen Jackson

Marketing NG, the organisation tasked with promoting Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has named its interim chief executive following the departure of Brendan Moffett.

Stephen Jackson, the former CFO and COO at Nottingham Trent University, is taking on the role until Marketing NG considers how and whether it will replace Moffett.

A statement from Paul Southby, chairman of Marketing NG, said: “Consideration is being given to bringing Marketing NG closer to other private sector-based city teams whose work might be said to overlap with ours.

“I am keen to ensure that city-wide resources are used most effectively for the benefit of our local economy and to promote Nottingham as a great place to experience and the great place to live, work, study, be entertained, and do business we all know it to be.

“I have thought for many years that a simpler landscape amongst city agencies would be of benefit both in terms of developing and fixing the city offer to its local, national and international customers, and to support a truly long-term vision for growth and economic sustainability in and around Nottingham.”

Moffett has left Marketing NG to take up a role as director at the Centre for Contemporary Hospitality and Tourism at University of Derby. He was at Marketing NG for two years.
