Seddon buys Matrix Park site

SEDDON Developments, the development arm of family-owned Seddon Group, has bought a 4.12 acre plot of land from Harrow Estates at Matrix Park in Chorley.

Plot 3000 has outline planning consent for industrial and business park use and Seddon has said that it plans to apply for consent for a 75,000 sq ft commercial unit. The sum paid for the land has not been disclosed.

Matthew Dobson, a property partner at Brabners Chaffe Street who advised on the deal, said: “Despite the tough market conditions, Seddon Developments continues to show an appetite for development sites, spurred on by the success of their scheme at Axis Point, Heywood.

“They are continuing to buck the trend and we understand they intend to carry out some speculative development on site in early 2012.”

Daniel Burn of Jones Lang LaSalle advised Harrow Estates.
